The school has invested in a new till payment system in the main dining hall – we anticipate this will speed up service and provide a modernised experience for pupils. Arrangements for providing lunch money through your ParentPay account are unchanged, as are arrangements for those eligible for Free School Meals.

WHSB and WHSG have jointly agreed to appoint a new catering provider, Nourish, to operate the Joint Schools' Dining Hall from the beginning of the Summer Term 2026.

Daily Spending Limit
The standard daily limit applied to each pupil is £10. If you would like a different limit set for your child, please contact the Finance Office financeadmin@whsb.essex.sch.uk

Allergy/Dietary
Nourish, the contract caterer in the 11-16 dining hall, provides the following information:

• Allergy information is available in the canteen, at the main hot counter at each till point.
• We update our allergens on a daily basis to ensure they are accurate to the products we are using.
• Our team is briefed pre-service on the day's menu and allergen content, so that each cashier will be aware when the allergy information appears on the till.
• The team will question a student's choice if the system reveals a specific allergy. 
• Ms Gray, the General Manager, will be happy to discuss with individual students if they have specific requirements.
