The Parents' Association

There is an active Parents' Association which organises a range of social events throughout the year. These offer parents the chance to meet teachers and each other in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In addition, the Association organises a variety of fund-raising events. New parents are invited to join the Association and an opportunity to meet committee members is offered to all new parents at an evening function in September.

The Parents' Association 100 Club was established in December 1996 and since its launch has raised thousands of pounds enabling the Parents' Association to provide many beneficial items for the school and its pupils.

Projects funded outside of departmental budgets include: funding towards two new minibuses, digital image transfer equipment for the Design and Technology Department, furniture for the Sixth Form Centre, new sports kit for the PE department, and sound and light equipment that is used for the multitude of events that take place in School throughout the year. With the passing of each school year, the Parents' Association loses members of the 100 Club as their sons and daughters leave WHSB. Therefore, it is vital for new members to become involved. For a monthly Standing Order contribution of just £5 members, who must be associated with the School, are entered into a monthly draw to win a cash sum, currently in the region of £100.

If you would like to join the 100 Club, please download, complete and return your '100 Club' Joining Form to the Parents' Association (c/o the School Office) and send your New Bank Standing Order Instruction directly to your bank.  Further details can be obtained by contacting the Parents' Association Treasurer by e-mail (pa@ whsb.essex.sch.uk) or telephoning the School's Community Development Office Team (01702 475443).
