GCSE Results 2019
Westcliff High School for Boys is once again congratulating its pupils on their record breaking performance in their GCSE examinations in 2019.
Having achieved 76.3 % of all grades at 9-7 (A*-A) their results are the School’s best ever GCSE results. Over a quarter (26.2%) of examinations were graded 9 (which the national tables value above a former A*). This is an exceptional performance, with pupils rising brilliantly to the challenge presented by the new GCSE examinations.
Headmaster, Mike Skelly, said:
“We congratulate the pupils on their outstanding results which reflect the hard work invested. They have had terrific support from their teachers who also deserve congratulations and recognition for the excellent teaching and support they have provided for their pupils. I congratulate our pupils and staff on their success and wish our pupils, and all those receiving GCSE results this week, well for the future.”
We have many pupils who have performed at an exceptionally high level. 71% of pupils achieved 8 or more A*- A/ 9-7 grades, and 25% of pupils achieved 12A*-A/9-7 grades. A remarkable 44% of pupils achieved 8 or more 9-8/A* grades.
These results place Westcliff High School for Boys among the leading schools in the Country.
