This term, Westcliff High School for Boys is celebrating its Year 7 Cricket Team being crowned Essex County Indoor Cricket Champions. The triumph follows their success in the County Championship finals at the County Ground in Chelmsford.

Following victory last December in the opening round of the competition, progression to the finals meant the WHSB squad faced premier opposing teams from schools within the region. An initial narrow defeat did not deter them; they responded by winning their next five consecutive matches. Consistently sharp fielding and determination restricted opponents' scoring opportunities, ultimately securing the championship title.

This is an outstanding achievement, and we commend the entire team for their hard work and commitment. The players will now transition their focus to the upcoming outdoor season, where they will compete in both the Southend Borough and Essex County competitions.
