WHSB CCF Cadets participated in the City’s Remembrance Parade and Service at Southend’s Cenotaph

On Sunday 9 November cadets from our CCF Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force Sections participated in the City’s Remembrance Parade and Service at Southend’s Cenotaph. More than 100 cadets from WHSB’s CCF joined others marching in the parade in memory of those who gave their lives during WWI, WW2, and in other conflicts.
The School is proud of all the cadets who represented WHSB in the Parade on Sunday, and of those cadets who were representing the School at other Remembrance events around Essex at the weekend.
Today, the School held its own Remembrance Service, during which our School Captain, Gabriel, laid a wreath in honour of the Old Westcliffians who bravely served and gave their lives to secure the relative peace we now enjoy. The CCF also supported local primary schools at their Remembrance services, and was delighted to also attend and support the Orpheus Singers’ Festival of Remembrance at the United Reform Church in Westcliff on Saturday 8 November.
We look forward to sharing further photographs of the cadets supporting this year’s Remembrance events as they are shared with the School.
We would like to thank Lieutenant Colonel A Baggs, Contingent Commander, and all our CCF staff volunteers for their outstanding support in training and preparing the cadets for these important events. Well done to all involved.
